AUCTION SHOP RULES

These are the rules for GASR's Auction Shop sub-forum which have been written with protection of our members in mind.

Please read through the rules and if you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact an Auction Moderator.

By using the auction sub-forum, you automatically agree to all auction shop rules.

Saying you did not know the rules is not a valid excuse and a warning will be issued the same if you were aware of them.

If you are looking for help with starting an auction, please read our Setup Guide.

GENERAL AUCTION SHOP RULES

Here are the general auction shop rules of the auction sub-forum. All members are supposed to follow each rule.

Violation of a rule will result in a blacklist or warning level, so please read these thoroughly and carefully.

Keep "chatter" to a minimum.

  • This includes spam, arguments, & drama.
  • Communication is required between the auctioneer and the winner in order to have a smooth transaction.
  • GASR staff are not responsible for any miscommunication and it is your responsibility upon creating and/or bidding on an auction.
  • Any post-auction communication should be done in PM.

Art theft will not be tolerated.

  • Art theft will be dealt with the same severity as anywhere else on the website. Continuous rule breaking will result in a ban from the auction sub-forum.
  • If you suspect there is art theft occurring during an auction, do not post in the auction thread, but report the post and let an Auction Moderator know immediately.

AUCTIONEERS

Here are the auctioneer rules. All members hosting an auction are to follow each rule.

Violation of a rule will result in a blacklist or warning level, so please read these thoroughly and carefully.

MUSTS

1. All auction shops must be approved by an Auction Moderator.

  • Please refer to this guide on how to setup an auction.
  • Unapproved auction topics will not be made public until an application is completed.

2. All auction shops must be General Audience (GA).

  • Any and all auction pieces must follow our image restrictions.
  • If you would like to host an explicit content auction, you may do so in the mature auction house.
  • If there is an uncensored piece used on GASR, both the auctioneer and winner will be penalized accordingly.

3. You must only auction art.

  • Screenie packs will not be permitted to be auctioned.
  • Traditional, digital, edited screenies, pixels, and adoptables are all allowed.
  • UPDATED: You may auction a set of adoptables up to 5 pieces. If you are collabing, the 5 pieces are shared together.
    - You may auction up to 5 different pieces or 1 set of bases containing 5 adoptables.

    - If not collabing, you can auction off a set of adoptables, or multiple mediums of art containing the same character being auctioned.
  • You can add different or multiple autobuys on your set of adoptables or piece.

4. You must reference each artwork/batch.

  • Include any and all references used in your art work in order to avoid heavy referencing and any disciplinary action against you.

5. Watermark your premades.

  • This is to prevent theft before and after the auction is over.

6. You must give the winner 48 hours to send payment.

  • This gives the winner of your auction time to read the pm and send the money.
  • You can allow for a longer grace period for payment, but not shorter.

First offense will result in a blacklist (one time auction ban).

Second offense will result in a friendly reminder + one month ban.

Third offense will result in an official warning and a permanent ban from the auction sub-forum.

7. Wait time to set up a new auction piece in your shop is 10 days.

  • This is to ensure auctions are "special" and prevent over crowding of the auction sub-forum.
  • The timer of 10 days starts after your piece or last piece is sold, not the start date of the new auction piece.

8. Auction shops have an unlimited duration, but will be locked and archived after 60 days of inactivity.

  • Like regular topics throughout GASR, inactive threads will be sent to our archives. Please keep your thread updated as much as possible.

9. You must let an Auction Moderator know if you are adding new styles to your auction shop

  • Please contact an Auction Moderator if you are adding new or different styles to your auction shop

You must open your auction within a week of it being approved or else you will have to re-apply.

CANS

1. Collaborations are acceptable to auction.

  • All artists involved with the collab share the auction cool down.

2. Artist have the right to decline art to a winner for reasons they see fit.

  • In such cases, the next highest bidder will win the piece(s). An Auction Moderator should be notified so they can contact the declined winner.

3. Auctions may be cancelled for VALID reasons.

  • You may not cancel an auction because you are not getting the bids you want.
  • If something unexpected occurred, such as a hard drive crash or loss of data, it is a valid reason for a cancelled auction.
  • Contact an Auction Moderator ASAP and your auction cool down will be reset.

CANNOTS

1. Auctions cannot be bought privately.

  • Auctioneers may NOT accept private bids or auto buys.
  • Please report any PMs attempting to privately bid or auto buy your auction.

First offense will result in a blacklist (one time auction ban).

Second offense will result in a official warning + permanent ban.

2. Scamming of any sorts will NOT be tolerated.

  • Using an alternate account/your friend to raise your bid amount is not allowed.
  • Stolen art cannot be auctioned. Please refer to our art theft & consequences.
    - Stolen art includes but not limited to: heavily referenced images, tracing of a photo/art, repaints of a copyrighted photo/art

Attempts in auctioning stolen artwork will result in an official warning & 2 week ban.

First offense in scamming will result in a blacklist (one auction ban).

Second offense in scamming will result in an official warning & a two week ban from the forum, and a permanent ban from the auction section.

  • If you are auctioning off a piece on GASR, you CANNOT sell it elsewhere.
    - This includes: the premade market, any shops, & offsite (IMVU, deviantart, any other art forums).

BIDDERS

Here are the bidder rules. All members bidding in an auction are to follow each rule.

Violation of a rule will result in a blacklist or warning level, so please read these thoroughly and carefully.

Bidding Rules

1. No false bids.

  • Trying to raise a bid for a friend will not be permitted.
  • Do not bid more than you can afford. If the winner cannot pay for the auction, the piece goes to the next highest bidder.
  • Do not post a bid you are not committed to. All bids are 100% committed and cannot be a "possible" bid.

First offense will result in a blacklist (one auction ban) & cannot participate in auction that was backed out of (such as a charity auction).

Second offense will result in a friendly reminder & a one month ban from the auction section.

Third offense will result in an official warning & a permanent ban from the auction section.

Art Rules

1. Do not use or steal the auction piece if you are not the winner.

  • Same as GASR's general guidelines, do not use artwork that does not belong to you. This includes stolen artwork and using art that you did not commission for. Disciplinary action proceeds the same as well.

2. Do not resell art you have won.

  • Reselling, regardless of written approval, will not be permitted in the auction section of GASR. If you wish to resell artwork with only written consent, then you may do so elsewhere on the website such as the premade market.
