Auction Shop Rules

These are the rules for GASR's Auction subforum.
They have been written with the protection of our Members in mind.
Please read through them so the Auction section can operate smoothly.

By using the Auction sub-forum, you automatically agree to all Auction Rules.
Ignorance of the rules is not a valid excuse, the warning level will be the same as if you were aware of them.
If you are looking for help with starting an auction, please read our Setup Guide.

General Auction Rules
Please keep "chatter" (whether it be on topic or not) to a minimum.

Auctions are not the place for conversations.
Please remain focused on the artwork being auctioned and keep the threads clean.

• No spam
• No arguments
• No drama
• Respect all members.

Communication is required between the auctioneer and winner in order to have a smooth transaction.

GASR staff are not responsible for any miscommunication, it is your responsibility.
Any post-auction communication should be done in PM.

.
Art theft will not be tolerated.

Art theft will be dealt with the same severity as anywhere else on the forum.
Either side of the transaction can commit art theft.
Please refer to the specific auction rule sections for details on what we consider art theft.

Auctioneer (Shop Owner) Rules

Bidder (Buyer) Rules

Any general rule breaking will be dealt with as they are in the other parts of the forum.
Continuous rule breaking will get you banned from Auctions.

Musts

All auction shops can only be created upon approval of an Auction Moderator.

Please refer to the guide on how to set up an auction.

You must fill an application here.
Unapproved auction shops will not be made public until an application is completed.

All Auctions must be GA
Any and all auction pieces must follow our Image Restrictions.
However, you may host an EC auction ONLY if it is properly censored.
Bidders may privately message Auctioneer to view a watermarked uncensored version.
If the uncensored piece is used on GASR, both auctioneer and winner will be penalized accordingly.

The limit amount of adoptables being auctioned per batch is 3.

This is to avoid artists auctioning rushed artwork.

This also prevents an auction shop being used as a regular premade shop.

Your batch will not be approved until you choose up to 3 pieces to auction.

Auctioning more than 3 at a time will result in your shop being locked.

It will be unlocked once no more than 3 pieces are chosen.

References for each artwork/batch must be included.

References used must either be sent in a PM to an auction moderator or included in your shop.

This is to make sure every auction piece is not heavily referenced or stolen.

Watermark your premades.
This is to prevent theft for before and after the auction is over.
We will NOT allow unwatermarked pieces to be auctioned.
It's generally a good idea to watermark any art you post to discourage thieves.

Unwatermarked adoptables will be removed from your shop.

You may only be a part of 1 auction shop at a time.

This is to avoid people creating multiple shops to bypass the cooldown.

Both shops will be locked until you remove yourself from one.

You must give the winner 48 hours to send payment.
This gives the winner of your auction time to read the pm and also send the money.
You can allow a longer grace period for payment, but not shorter.
First offense will result in a friendly reminder.
Second offense will result in an official warning and a point.
Third offense will result in an official warning, a point, and a permanent ban from the auction sub-forum.

The wait time to set up a new auction in your shop is minimum of 10 days.

This is to ensure that auctions are special and don’t go unnoticed.

These shops still belong in the auction subforum.

Your auction shop will be locked until the cool-down period has passed.

First offense will result in a friendly reminder.

Second offense will result in an official warning and a point.

Third offense will result in an official warning, a point, and a permanent ban from the auction sub-forum.

You must keep an auction shop for at least 2 months before creating a new one.

This is to prevent members from deleting a shop and making a new one right after.
You will have to wait the full 2 months before making a new one.

The 2 months starts from the date of creation of your first shop.

Any new art styles must be approved before being auctioned off.

This allows us to make sure you are not auctioning stolen artwork.

Your new art styles can be auctioned after getting an auction moderator’s approval.

Please PM an auction moderator with your new style before auctioning it.

Unapproved pieces will be removed and your shop will be locked for review.

You must open your auction within a week of it being approved, or else you'll have to re-apply.
.
Can's

Collaborations are acceptable to auction.

A collaboration is a piece created by 2 or more artists.

For auction shops, there can ONLY be 2 artists per collaboration.

All artists involved must make a post in the beginning of the thread.

Artists involved with the collaboration will share the auction cool-down.

Artist have the right to decline art to a winner for reasons they see fit.
In such cases, the next highest bidders will win the piece(s).
An Auction Moderator should be notified so they can contact the declined winner.
Bidders should be told ASAP so the next highest bidder can be notified.

Auctions may be cancelled for VALID reasons.
You may not cancel an auction because you are not getting the bids you want.
However, we understand unexpected things occur, such as a hard drive crash or loss of data.
You must contact an auction moderator ASAP.
Your auction cool-down will be reset.

.

Cannots

Auctions cannot be bought privately!
Auctioneers may NOT accept private bids or auto buys.
Please report any PMs attempting to privately bid or auto buy your auction.
The first offense will result in a friendly reminder.
The second will result in an official warning, a point, and a permanent ban from the auction sub-forum

You cannot auction screenies/screenie packs.

We do not allow unedited screenies/screenie packs to be auctioned.

Display pictures crops can be included with your adoptables but they cannot be sold alone.

Enhanced screenies, ‘’scratch’’ art, pixels are allowed as adoptables.

Using alternate accounts/your friends to raise your bid amount is NOT allowed!
Trying to raise the bid amount by getting friends to make fake bids is not allowed.
This is dishonest and the auctioneer/false bidders involved will receive a warning.
The first offense will result in an official warning and a point.
The second will result in a permanent ban from the auction sub-forum and a two week ban from GASR.

If you are auctioning off a piece in this forum, you CANNOT sell it elsewhere.
This includes, but is not limited to:
The premade market
Any of your shops
Offsite (IMVU forums, other art forums, deviantart, etc.)
The first offense will result in your auction being locked and you will receive a friendly reminder.

The second will result in your auction being locked as well as an official warning and a point.
You will also be permanently banned from the auction sub-forum.
Your auction cool-down will not reset after it has been locked for this reason.

Scamming will NOT be tolerated.
We expect you to keep your side of the offer and do not take scamming lightly.
Should we receive proof of you scamming others, your auction privileges will be revoked indefinitely.
Auctioneer must give all versions promised once payment has been received.
The first offense will result in an official warning, 2 points and a two week ban.
The second offense of scamming on GASR will result in a permanent ban.

Stolen art CANNOT be auctioned.
Please refer to GASR's art theft and consequences for more details.
What we consider art theft includes, but is not limited to;
Heavily referenced images • Tracing over a photo or artwork • Repaints of copyrighted photos or art.
Attempts to auction stolen art will result in an official warning, bar dock, and a 2 week ban.
The second offense of art theft will result in a permanent ban from GASR.
